The Orfeó de Mallorca is a choral ensemble affiliated with the Orfeó Balear, bringing together singers from Palma as well as from various municipalities across the island, such as Alaró, Binissalem, Consell, Buñola, Marratxí, Sóller, Alcudia, Inca, Santa Eugènia, Santa Maria, Calvià, Sencelles, Llucmajor, among others.

Conducted by Daniel Mulet, director of the Orfeó Balear, the choir boasts a wide-ranging repertoire and specializes in a cappella music.

The Orfeó de Mallorca is made up of around 50 singers and offers a high-quality concert season throughout the year. It also takes part, together with the Orfeó Balear and other affiliated choirs, in various musical events during the season. In addition, it regularly performs in concerts with symphonic bands.

In recent years, the Orfeó de Mallorca has revived high-quality works by Catalan, Mallorcan, Spanish, and British composers that are rarely performed in the Balearic Islands, such as Christmas Cantata by Francesc Vila Nadal, Llum i Misteri, and the zarzuela The Iron Ring by the composer Miquel Marquès. Its repertoire also includes film songs, world music, works by Federico García Lorca, musical theatre pieces, and the Gospel Mass by Jacob de Haan.

The ensemble’s sonority and tonal color make the Orfeó de Mallorca an ideal instrument for the performance of a cappella choral music.
